Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용궁사)

July 4, 2014 § Leave a comment

Yonggungsa Temple is one of the most beautiful temple i’ve ever visited so far as it is located along the shore line. Getting there was a bit challenging for me as I’m traveling alone that time and I decided to follow the Google maps direction (which lead me to the Songjeong 2 Apt.) and ended up walking there instead of taking the second bus to Yonggungsa Junction. Thank god I didn’t got lost or something bad happened to me while walking there. (It took me almost 1 and a half hours walking from the bus station. But it totally worth it as I had the chance to enjoyed a nice views along the coast of Busan.)

*I Will try to post something on how to get there if you followed the Google maps direction. 😛

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is situated on the coast of the north-eastern portion of Busan. This superb find of a tourist spot and temple offers visitors the rare find of a temple along the shore line. Most temples in Korea are located in the mountains. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was first built in 1376 by the great Buddhist teacher known as Naong during the Goryeo Dynasty. Haesu Gwaneum Daebul (Seawater Great Goddess Buddha), Daeungjeon Main Sanctuary, Yongwangdang Shrine, Gulbeop Buddhist Sanctum (enclosed in a cave), and a three-story pagoda with four lions can all be seen looking out over the ocean.”
